Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about chiropractic, acupuncture, B12 injections, personal injury care, insurance, and more.

Getting started

Do I need a referral?
No. Most patients can book directly without a referral. If your insurance requires one, we will let you know during benefits verification.
What should I wear to my visit?
Comfortable clothing that allows movement (e.g., athletic wear). Avoid restrictive jeans, dresses, or tight belts if possible.
How long is the first visit?
Plan for about 45–60 minutes including history, movement assessment, treatment, and home-care instruction. Follow‑ups are typically 15–25 minutes depending on your plan.
Will I be adjusted on the first visit?
In most cases, yes—if clinically appropriate and you’re comfortable. We review options (gentle/manual, instrument‑assisted, or mobilization) and obtain consent first.

Chiropractic care

Are adjustments painful or safe?
Adjustments are generally comfortable. You may feel mild pressure or cavitation (“pop”) as gas releases from the joint. We tailor techniques to your comfort, including low‑force options. Minor soreness can occur for 24–48 hours—similar to post‑workout soreness.
Do you always take X‑rays?
No. Imaging is only ordered when clinically indicated (e.g., trauma, red flags, or failure to improve). Most mechanical pain can be safely assessed without imaging.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on your condition, goals, and response to care. Many acute issues improve within 4–6 visits; chronic or recurrent issues may benefit from a longer plan and periodic wellness care.

Acupuncture (needle & needle‑less)

What does acupuncture feel like?
Most patients feel a light pinch or pressure, warmth, or a dull ache (“de‑qi”) that fades quickly. We also offer needle‑less (electrical) options for sensitive patients.
Is acupuncture safe and hygienic?
Yes. We use sterile, single‑use needles and follow strict clean‑needle technique. Minor temporary effects (redness, light bruising, drowsiness) can occur.
Who should avoid acupuncture?
Relative precautions include bleeding disorders, anticoagulant use, metal allergies, uncontrolled medical conditions, or pregnancy for certain points. We screen and adapt care accordingly.

Vitamin B12 injections

Who is a good candidate for B12 injections?
B12 may be appropriate for individuals with medically identified deficiency or increased need (per your provider). We review your health history first and coordinate with your primary care when needed.
Are there side effects?
B12 injections are generally well tolerated. Possible temporary effects include soreness at the injection site, mild redness, or bruising. We will discuss risks/benefits and alternatives.

Personal injury & documentation

Do you treat motor vehicle accident injuries?
Yes. We provide gentle, evidence‑informed care for whiplash and related injuries. We document findings and progress, and can coordinate with your primary care, specialists, or legal team as appropriate.
Can you provide paperwork for claims?
Yes. We can supply treatment notes and summaries for claims when applicable. Please let us know early so we can tailor documentation to requirements.

Insurance, payment, and scheduling

Do you accept insurance? What about HSA/FSA?
We are in‑network with major plans and accept HSA/FSA. We can verify your benefits and explain estimated costs before treatment.
What if I want transparent cash pricing?
We list transparent visit and package options on our Pricing page. Many patients choose the option that best fits their schedule and goals.
What is your cancellation policy?
Out of respect for other patients, please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or missed visits may incur a fee.

Pregnancy & pediatric care

Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
Yes. We use pregnancy‑safe positioning and gentle techniques, and tailor care to your stage of pregnancy and comfort.
Do you see children?
Yes—newborns through teens. Techniques are gentle and age‑appropriate. We always explain options and obtain consent from a parent or guardian.
